Message To Teens

Be confident in who you are. Each and everyone posses greatness that is developing as we grown from a child to an adolescence, and into adulthood. Rise above the pressure of this world. Know who you are. Develop who you are. Never be afraid to be who you were destined to be. Don’t give up. Most of all, put God first and love yourself above anyone else. Always be kind, caring and lend a helping hand when possible. Build up, never tear each other down. Never suffer in silence. You are never alone!

Love,

One Healthy Teen

Hi Everyone,

First let me introduce myself. My name is Ayala O., CEO & Founder of One Healthy Teen. One of the reasons why I started this blog was I saw the need for and the lackof sites dedicated to educating teens on how to live a healthier, happier life through nutrition, maintaining a healthy diet, and frequent exercise. My two main influencers are Michelle Obama, who stressed to schools and parents about being healthy starting from childhood, and my Mother who has always encouraged my siblings and I to appreciate food, being cautious of the food we allow into our body it is about quality not quantity. It helped to realize food is the best medication for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The amount of care that goes into taking care of my body in my childhood, affects my habits, growth and health as I grow into adulthood.

About one year ago I started to live a healthier, and health conscious life. Guided by my Mom, and Michelle I slowly removed unhealthy eating, habits and food from my diet. At first, I thought it was going to be difficult…. I do have a sweet tooth, but the more I educated myself and saw the benefits of living a better life, it no longer became a horrible chore. I became more aware of the way I used to eat and how much I really didn’t need those unhealthy foods. Guess what? I started with sweets. Then breads, ceral, cake and finally dairy. I replaced all the negative foods with positive, or positive alternatives. I saw food as medicine. You know what, it really wasn’t that bad. As a matter of fact, I found a way of making eating healthy more excitable. I replaced cow’s milk with almond milk. I found recipes for interesting tasty and low carb diets. I realized protein was the building blocks for my body. It maintains and builds my bodies tissues. Which led to more energy, better sleep, leaner and more defined muslces. I added exercise to my daily living (or much as could). Everyday I try to make a change for the best of life. I started working at a grocery store and I read labels for preservatives, and harmful ingredient’s that can have harmful side effects in my body. Many ingredients in our food cause more harm than not. I also look for Non-GMO food.  I do all I can to support a healthier lifestyle for me and those around me.

I care about the lives of the kids of my generation and the generations following. I also look to connect with other teens who are dedicated to living a healthier lifestyle, and taking steps toward prevention. It is my duty to give back, and if giving back means educating then I hope I can help save a life through my blog. I saw the difference it made in my energy, my skin, and confidence. Remember to start slow. Educate yourself on what you introduce to your system. I believe you will see the same changes too!

I look to connect, and interview with other healthy teens. If you are that person or you know someone, please email me at, 1healthyteen@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you,

Ayala O.
